Dr Lis D. Hammond and Dr Stephanie Kılınç in front of the poster they presented at the BPS Division of Health Psychology Conference in Gateshead. Unfortunately, one author, Alexander Farrington, was not able to be there. The poster, entitled “Revision of the Integrative Model of Adjustment to Chronic Conditions (IMACC- R1): applicability to adult-onset epilepsy” presented research findings that theoretically verify the potential usefulness of the IMACC to epilepsy. The original research was conducted in type 2 diabetes and work has been done to link key theories in pain management to the model. The IMACC is a model with potential for direct clinical application and clinical trials are being planned.
