I read once about the 12 spoons of sugar. So, if it takes me 3 to get out of bed, and, maybe go to the bathroom and get washed and changed, I know that I’ve got about 9 left. It might take you another 3 to get to lunch time. We plan how far I can walk and then using the spoons of sugar, I know when I need to sit down, so we’ll go and have a coffee and I’ll get up and walk a bit further and then I’ll sit down. When you know those 12 are up and you’ve used them as you wanted to use them, it’s time to sit down. If you don’t listen to those 12 spoons of sugar, then you end up paying for days after that, because you’ve done too much. If you’ve used them or you push yourself past that because you’re feeling really good, then you end up paying for it for the next two days, by not having the energy.
